Childhope Asia Philippines is an international non-profit
organization working with local organizations in different countries
in the Asia-Pacific region. For more than a decade, Childhope has
assisted street children, children victims of abuse and neglect and
other children in need of special protection in liberating
themselves from suffering caused by working and living on the
streets.

The Resource
Center currently has a collection of more than a thousand
books, periodicals, photo and video and other literature
relevant to street children and other children in need of
special protection. It also has a section on Filipiniana, a
database on street children in Manila, papers and research on
a variety of topics: The Girl Child, Child Abuse, Child Labor,
Sexually Exploited Children, Children in Conflict with the
Law, etc.

It has a large
collection of brochures, filed reference materials, research,
newsletters, clipped news articles, and directories of
non-government and government organizations (based in the
Philippines and abroad) working with street children.

The Resource
Center, through Childhope Asia Philippines, publishes a
quarterly newsletter.

Childhope aims to
disseminate relevant information concerning street children
and other children in need of special protection to
individuals and organizations involved in direct service,
research, information dissemination, advocacy and networking.
Hence, the Resource Center invites and encourages students,
researchers, media practitioners, policy analysts, advocates
and the general public to avail of the materials in the
Resource Center.* |
* The Resource Center charges a library fee of P 75.00/day for
professionals, and P30.00/day for students. Please call for an
appointment at least three days in advance.
